Anonymous asked: how has your house situation been lately?
Well, we found somewhere to rent. All of our stuff is there… in boxes. We’re starting to unbox some things, but it takes a long time. And we had to do work on my bedroom walls, and now that that’s done we can prime and paint them… when we get money for said prime and paint.
Hey so we have somewhere to rent now.
So once we move in, I’ll no longer be homeless. Yay! We submitted the paperwork today and got the call at 9- or 10-something tonight saying our application was chosen. We were surprised it was so quick, but the realtor, Dara, said that the Amish owner (whose name is Benual [rhymes with Samuel]) was waiting for us to turn in the application. Turns out we were his first choice ever since we first looked at the house!
Here’s some details:
- Where: Quarryville, Pennsylvania
- What: Amish farmhouse duplex (we get the right 1/3, which is still pretty roomy and has 3 floors)
- Land: 110 acres
- Monthly Rent: $525
- First Floor: living room, dining room, basement access, bathroom, kitchen
- Second Floor: large bedroom (mine) and small bedroom (my parents’)
- Third Floor: attic storage space
- Pros: cheap; roomy; beautiful view; old house; I get the biggest bedroom; large kitchen; we can paint whatever we want, however we want; electricity; internet can be put in
- Cons: old house, so there’s some cracks and some second floor doorways and floors have settled at an angle… particularly my room; we can’t get too loud because there’ll be a family on the other side of the wall; it’s a working farm so the smell’s sometimes really horrendous and the noise can get really loud at all hours of the day or night; it doesn’t have really good heating so we’ll have to get space heaters; it’s out in the middle of nowhere—pretty literally—so it’s an hour ride south to work… and that’s just one-way
So that’s the run down about our new place. I’ll try and take some pictures as soon as I can. :)
Right now I’m ticked off at the people we’re staying with.
- I’m not allowed to watch my shows for stupid reasons
- we’re not allowed to put our food in their refrigerator, freezer, or cabinets
- they allow they’re neighbor to make homophobic remarks about me
- I’m not allowed to use the stove past 9PM so I’m going to bed hungry again
- they don’t use the heat even though they can afford to because they’re Scrooges with their money, so it’s as cold inside at night as it is outside and it’s warmer outside during the day
- my asthma’s getting worse and worse because they won’t use their heat
And I can’t even go and be mad about it in my room and cool off by myself because I’m sharing a tiny room with my mom.
Screw this. I’m going to go curl up in bed under the necessary 5 blankets to keep warm and I’m gonna text Sean.

Hey everyone. As most of you know, my dad hasn’t paid the mortgage for THREE YEARS and didn’t tell us. Now my family and I have a week to pack up our lives and move out. We’ll be living in a van in the middle of winter with our two dogs. We need to raise $70,000 before Dec. 1st… but that’s not very likely. So all donations will go towards us paying for somewhere to stay if the $70,000 isn’t reached. I hate to ask but please, PLEASE donate. We can’t be homeless all winter. Thank you all for your donations and support.
Reblogging again. Please, PLEASE donate. Last night ten people donated a total of $446.58! I’ve forever thankful. If you could please add to that so we don’t have to live in our van in the middle of winter, I’d appreciate it. Thank you all so much!
Currently at $561.58! Thank you all for reblogging and please donate! Much love.

At times like this, I wish I had money.

Thank you though. Your support is just as needed as money, so I really appreciate it.

giantsquidofawesome asked: Sean, I'm not going to try to soften this up. These next few months will be hard. I know that this may mean nothing, but I want you to know that I am always here for you. Hoping things get better. I know you're going to continue to be the strong guy I've always known you are. Things will get better, I promise. <3
I know it will be. It’s winter so my asthma is always worst this time of year, especially when I’m outside. So it’s not going to be good for me at all. Like, there’s a good chance I may end up having an asthma attack and going to the hospital. :/ That’s the sad truth of it.
But thank you. I really truly appreciate it. <3
